Microsoft is flirting with the idea of offering its upcoming
Windows 7 operating system on USB flash drives, enabling upgrades
to be made easier for machines without optical drives. Sounds
pretty good to us, but it still remains to be seen whether this
move, if mooted, will involve copy protection of sorts beyond a CD
key. Of course, there are still other options available which might
involve downloads as with Windows Vista, while one could always
visit retailers such as Best Buy where there are technicians
available to perform the upgrade. Whatever it is, to have an OS
released o...

Microsoft Could Offer External Blu-ray Drive

Just when you thought pigs could fly as Toshiba mulls over
delivering a Blu-ray drive to the market despite being a champion
of its own HD DVD format some time ago, Microsoft, too, could
follow suit as word on the street is going around that the software
giant might be rolling out a Blu-ray drive add-on for its popular
Xbox 360 gaming console. After all, Microsoft did offer an external
HD DVD drive before, so it remains to be seen whether the tide is
turning for Blu-ray long after the HD DVD's death. Permalink:

Atari USB Flash Drive

With USB flash drives being so small these days, they come in all
sorts of shapes, and this one is a whole lot more interesting
compared to the rest - the Atari USB flash drive. What looks like
an old school Atari 2600 cartridge, it comes with a USB cable to
plug into any computer since the darn thing is way too big to be
practical, although it does herald pleasant memories of yore.
Wonder where these cartridges come from - perhaps they're recycled
from the millions of ET games that didn't sell. Permalink: Atari

Bomb USB Flash Drive

The Bomb USB is one flash drive that we don't think people would
want to carry around in airports as they might actually get held up
by overzealous officers who can't tell the difference between a USB
flash drive and that of an actual bomb. Designed by Joel Escalona,
this one comes in a variety of colors, and is meant to be a device
that resides on the workplace instead of being bandied around. How
many of you out there wouldn't mind having one of these sitting on
your desks, or do you prefer a more business-like approach when it
comes to peripherals? Permalink: Bomb USB Flash Drive from

Kana Flash USB Flash Drive

Want a really, really basic MP3 player that does not bear the
hallmarks of an iPod? There are other alternatives out there you
know, all you need to do is widen your search. The Kana Flash USB
flash drive is one of them, holding up to 2GB of internal memory
while playing back MP3 and WMA file formats. It will add a mere 10
grams to your pocket whenever you tote it around, and just like the
iPod Shuffle, there is no display on this device, leaving you to be
familiar with your playlist instead. Out in Japan next month, there
is no word on whether the Kana Flash will make its way outside of
the Land of the Rising Sun. ...
Super Expensive USB Flash Drive

We don't think there can ever be a lid on the most expensive USB
flash drive in the world since you never know when somebody out
there might slap a really fat diamond on their own USB flash drive
and declare it as such. We do know, however, that this 16GB USB
flash drive is mighty pricey at €7,400 a pop, thanks to Toshi
Satoji Design who are based in Milan Italy. The 100% aluminum
puzzle cube will hold 16GB of storage goodness within - guess if
you have the brain to amass such money to bring this home, chances
are you ought to be able to solve that problem in a jiffy.
