We're still waiting for USB 3.0 to become mainstream, and for those
who do not want to take the next step of purchasing a new computer
might want to check out the Active Atomix SuperSpeed USB 3.0
adapter. You will be able to choose from Atomix PX and Atomix EC
versions, where the former features a PCIe interface while the
Atomix EC will target laptops in the form of an Express Card
interface, retailing for $35 and $40, respectively. Each of them
will have a couple of USB 3.0 ports to get you started. Needless to
say, they're backwards compatible so you won't have anything to

Philips Active MP3 Player

Philips Active MP3 player seems like a rather interesting device
for active gym folks. The best part is that it can automatically
select a song that matches your workout. If you’re activity
is speeding up, and increasing the tempo of your workout, the
player will just select a track from your playlist that has a
quicker tempo. Conversely, when you’re slowing down, the
player will select something slower and that matches your rhythm.

ioGear USB 3.0 PCI Express Card

[CES 2010] ioGear has a prototype USB 3.0 PCI Express Card in the
works, but it isn't going to hit the mainstream market anytime soon
as their engineers are still working on it. Ten times faster
theoretically compared to a USB 2.0 connection, it is capable of
hitting 5Gbps when transferring data, and good thing it does not
discriminate against USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. We suppose this
will only roll out when USB 3.0 peripherals become mainstream.

Netgear XAVB2501 Powerline adapter with pass-through

[CES 2010] Netgear has just announced the NETGEAR Powerline 200 AV+
Adapter Kit (XAVB2501). The package contains two adapters that can
convey data at speeds of 200Mbps. It's not the fastest raw speed
out there, but Netgear's new product has a twist: there's a
filtered pass-through that will basically save one electric plug
from being occupied. That can come in handy in some situations.
Also, the XAVB2501 support quality of service (QoS) protocols that
give certain network packets like voice a higher priority for a
smooth experience. ($169 MSRP) Powerline adapters basically allow
the creatio...
